you know those human-outline targets they use at the rifle range? (i do. i wasn't half-bad with a rifle.) imagine taking a shotgun to one at about 25 yards, or maybe 50 yards. that's what the PET scan showed. too small and scattered to use radiation, and unresponsive to chemo. so now we're trying targeted medicinal therapy. you know, just to see if we can push the prognosis out past that 12-month mark.
