| Notes |
This is the first album the band made. The musicians are Howard Levy on harmonica and keyboards, Future Man on synth-axe drumitar, Victor Lemonte Wooten on electric bass and Béla Fleck on banjo. It was recorded in seven days in 1989 using Béla's own funds and later sold to Warner Brothers Records. The band had no concrete plans to tour or be a full time band at this time, it was just a creative project for the music's own sake.
The band got together first in 1988 for the Lonesome Pines Specials, a PBS TV show that featured an hour of Béla's music. They played 4 gigs about 6 months later and made the record several months after that. In 1990 Béla left the New Grass Revival and the Flecktones became a full time band.
